UN R26 — Exterior projections

UN R26 concerns exterior projections on M1 vehicles. Its aim is to reduce the risk or severity of injury to a person struck by or brushing against the bodywork, whether the vehicle is stationary or moving. Indirect-vision devices and the coupling ball are excluded.

Common question
Does R26 assess every external device?
No. Indirect-vision devices and the ball of a towing device are excluded. Assess them under the relevant separate provisions.
